Five Things

Obviously this little game of tag has been floating all over the blog world for a few weeks now, but who doesn't like to learn more about the girl behind the blog?  Alissa and Shannon both tagged me last week, so here we go...

1. I'm a texture freak. I cannot stand something if it as a strange texture. It's mostly a food thing: grapes HAVE to be hard, peaches have to be super soft, tomatoes are terrifying (I've only been able to eat raw tomatoes in the last year). But then I also get the same way about fabric: sheets and bedding? Have to be super soft and smooth right out of the pack.

2. Mayonnaise grosses me out more than I can handle. I like both ingredients in Mayo, so one would think I'd like the stuff. But there's just something about that thick gloppy cream that just freaks me out. I made deviled eggs for Easter this weekend, and normally I would use Greek yogurt for creaminess (it's great I promise), but I was out. Literally the only thing in my fridge was mayo. So I used as little as humanly possible. Then I tasted one. They were great, but I just couldn't bring myself to eat them because I knew they were "packed" with mayo. eww... so gross.

3. I'm addicted to sleeping. I really am starting to think it's a problem. I really think I need 10 hours a night. But I just don't have that much time in my day. I've tried cutting down caffeine, upping my exercise, shutting down all electronics before bed. Nothing works. 8 hours is just not enough. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?

4. I'm messy. Like my room is never clean. I've improved significantly in recent years, and am generally able to contain my mess to my own room (though my roommates may tell you otherwise). I've come to terms with the fact that my vanity will never ever be clean, but my bedroom also doubles as my closet (DC living) so clothes just seem to end up all over the place!

5. I'm terrified of law school. The scary amount of work-- like 12+ hour days every days for the next three years? eek.  Getting caught unprepared in class and looking like an idiot in front of my soon-to-be-peers? inevitable but still not fun. Oh and then there's the amount of debt this is going to put me in. I'm definitely not one to live beyond my means, so living more or less on loans for the next three years is making me sick.

I  tag Jessica (but she posted her 5 today already), Betsy, Nicole, Sara and Jenn.

Sometimes I feel addicted to sleep too!

Maybe you'll have a closet in NOLA??

I'll tell you a secret a lot of law students won't tell you because everyone martyrs themselves in law school-- but it won't be 12+ hour days, ever, unless it's finals. At least it shouldn't be. The best advice someone gave me, and that I've given repeatedly is to treat law school like a 9-5 job. Go to classes, do your reading and note taking right after class, and then go home, eat dinner, and relax. Repeat for 3 years (except for finals) and you will be MORE than okay. Trust me.

First of all, you're the cutest. You are going to rock it at law school! I think you are going to do big things little lady! Second, you posted my button-- I love it! Gracias! Third, I need to get on this. Thanks for tagging me!

I'm the same way with my sleep, I don't know how people function with less than 6 hours... freaks. I need 8... or more like 10. haha!

and I can completely relate with you about living on loans these next few years. That's what I'm having to face with pharmacy school and it's terrifying to me. I don't like the idea of living on debt like that.. and the interest is even scarier. I know it's an investment.. but it gives me anxiety. Either way, we aren't the only ones doing it! and you'll be TOTALLY fine in law school. It won't be easy, but you won't be given more than you can handle ;)

I am all about texture. With clothes and fabric for sure. If i touch a piece of clothing that has a strange texture I literally have to almost wipe off may hands to get the feeling off of them (crazy I know). This happens a lot in store like forever21...I think half the stuff isn't even really cloth hahaha

So weird, I'm a texture freak too! I think texture is JUST as important as taste!

My husband and I both are texture freaks, some things just have to be avoided haha.

I am THE same way when it comes to food!! I am so picky and if there's an ingredient I hate in something - I won't eat it. And if something doesn't LOOK good to me, I won't eat it and can't look at it or I'll vomit. So weird I know! lol

my piece of advice for law school would be to realllly try to limit your loans. i got into the mentality of "well if i'm already gonna have $X in loans, what's another 2 or 3 grand?" and then i'd go on a vacation haha. now that i'm paying it back, i wish i would've shown a little more restraint :) good luck - it's tough but doable. and i definitely embarassed myself in class before - you just have to let it roll off of you!

Mayo is disgusting. The end.

I'm kind of addicted to sleeping too. I usually get 8-10 hours a night. It's ridiculous. In college, I never pulled all nighters because sleeping was more important to me than studying.

I'm a texture person too- I will never like applesauce because I can't handle the texture! I wish I was a sleeper- instead I can survive on 4-6 hours of sleep but I should probaly get more because I know it would be better for me.

You know I'm with you on #3 and #4. I keep waiting to outgrow the stage where I need 10 hours of sleep, but it just never seems to happen. Anything under 9 1/2 hours and I'm so tired. Which, unfortunately, is every day of course!

We're pretty much twins.

yes yes to your thoughts on Mayonnaise. sick, nasty, gross

I agree on the mayo issue. But sandwiches are always in need of a "glue" to stick them together so there's that dilemma.
