Currently I am....

I feel like it's another day for a currently post. It's just that kind of a day.

Currently I am...

Annoyed that I have work today while the rest of Washington, D.C. is sleeping in, brunching and galavanting around the city.

Listening to an ethical training class online so I can maintain my FEC certification. It's super fun, let me tell you.

Watching CNN. Duh what else is new? Is it normal to know the daily line up on CNN by heart? well... I know it's not, but this is my life.

Reading blogs... so... many... blogs... I never realize how many I follow until I get on google reader for the first time in a few days. 400 new posts to read since Friday around noon-ish.

Wondering is it okay to purge my reader? I really only comment on like 1/4 of the blogs I read, maybe I need to refresh a bit. Touchy subject in blog world. I know I hate when I lose followers... but still... it' tricky. How do other bloggers handle it when you get overwhelmed? Help please!

Feeling sad because my favorite person ever has returned to Connecticut. At least we still have snapchat. My other favorite person ever is leaving me this week to move to New Zealand and travel the world for 18 months. I'm super jealous, but super sad.

Loving how much fun this weekend was.

Missing my bed. We didn't spend as much time together as I would have liked this weekend. #toobusyforsleep

Looking Forward To my bff is coming to town this weekend!

Wearing one of my new scarves I made myself! Yay for learning how to sew.

Obsessing over Union Market. DC friends, have you been there yet? I went twice this weekend and I am  so obsessed! It was amazing!!!

I may be back in CT (well, almost back), but I shall return very soon so that we can galavant around the city and Snapchat people from our shared bed! Xoxo miss you lady!

Also, rhodeside, although not actually in the district, ought to get a shout out for being the most fun bar everrrrrrr

It's hard–I get overwhelmed by the amount of blogs I follow too. I wish I had advice for you, but I'm trying to figure it out too!

I'm at work, too, if that makes you feel any better! I have just recently discovered Snapchat... so fun! I don't feel bad unfollowing blogs - my rule is if I can't remember 1 personal thing about them by just looking at the name of their blog - they are gone!

This post was adorable and honest. I'm at work too, hang in there!

Love reading this post
I can relate to most of what you wrote.
I can't keep up with blogs I have/want to read either,
there's just so many.
And yeah working on days when you
know others are not is a real bummer.

I'm never off on bank holidays. It makes me a little ragey. I do like avoiding the douches on public transportation though.

I rarely unfollow people. I just move them to a different folder in my reader.

Such a bummer that you had to work today! How lousy! Glad that you had a good weekend though! And so impressive that you're wearing a scarf you made yourself - I'd love to learn how to do that! :)

Yeah, I wasn't too happy to go to class today either. Luckily I'll be joining my friends in the workforce next year once I graduate and hopefully I'll get to enjoy a President's Day off for the first time ever!

Gosh, I hate when my reader gets out of control. I have been known to click "all read" and not worry about it. Shhh...it's a secret!

I miss my bed everyday too! I'm sorry you had to work - I did too and it was not fun :( Hope the rest of your week does better!

I feel like EVERYONE in town was at Union Market this weekend! I'll have to try it soon :)

And I unfollowed 23 blogs yesterday - seeing all these posts that I wouldn't read and, what's more, didn't want to read, stressed me out! don't need that.

Aw that's too bad you didn't get today off! And my best friend has been gone since September in/around South America as a dancer on a cruise ship. But we've become closer because we always have a Facebook message thread going! We can't text so we just do that! Hopefully you can do something like this with your friend :)

I follow tons of blogs and my google reader often says 1000+. I deal with by reading just titles and reading blogs that are my faves. It's def ok to clear it out sometimes. Us bloggers put out too much gold. :) I had to work too. Esther Norine Designs

Sorry that you had to work yesterday, so many people don't have that day off. I like how honest you are. I try to read so many blogs everyday but I don't get to every blog I like to read everyday. Sometimes, I read them only once a week. It can get quite difficult keeping up. Wish I had better advice for you.

I feel the same way about my google reader...so many blogs, not enough time! But I didn't want to unfollow people so I created a "favorites" folder in google reader and moved all my fav blogs there and now only have to read/comment on those :-)

I am clearly late to reading this (because I was not at work yesterday... or class as you noticed) haha. BUT my reader is nuts as well. Did you get any solid advice on how to manage it? I have unfollowed a few blogs lately... but never yours! YAY for bffs coming to town. Nothing beats friends visiting. Sewing date soon? Ps we need to sign up for another class with Antoinette!

If it makes any difference my college was not closed yesterday and I am a Tuesday Thursday student so I never get a Monday holiday off anyway hehe And as for blogging I feel you! Sometimes it feels like no commenting on others, no commenting on yours. But, at the same time the bloggers who only comment because you commented aren't real fans/followers/supporters of your blog. I've created a social circle of bloggers who come on my blog a few times a week and then so do I whether or not they comment or I comment I just enjoy visiting their particular home on the web. Some times I genuinly miss them and catch up on a weeks worth of posts on a Sunday. I believe gaining followers is like a snowball. First it flakes from the sky and as it rolls down the hill some snow sticks and the ball gets bigger, but as some stick other flake off. It's just the nature of it. What I like to do is I commit to 15 comments a day on other blogs M-F. And if I skip a day oh well! We aren't Cupcakes and Cashmere, maybe we will never be, but we can be Delightfully Tacky, now that's a more realisitc goal.

I blog purge all the time, don't feel bad about it, unless it's me. Then you should feel horrible about even thinking of purging me & really question your life choices :)
